Saying Hi…

Woman sitting wearing a white top

My name is Savannah. I’m a chronic overthinker, a health snob, and a lover of all things unconventional. My favorite movie is The Devil Wear’s Prada. My favorite food is brisket (can’t help it, I’m from the South). I love animals & nature more than I have words to explain, and my ideal day is one spent shopping.

I created this blog because I wanted a space to talk about my favorite things. I didn’t want to feel to influencer-y, so I decided to go old school. This website will also serve as a space for me to sell my art & designs, which will be available for purchase if you’re interested. Those things will be located on my shop page. But, back to the blog! This is my space to talk about the things I love most—fashion, health, lifestyle,…and maybe the occasional philosophical rabbit hole I’ve fallen down that week. My goal is for this to be a fun space where fashion, well-being, and independent thought can all co-exist together. I’m not sure when I will post next, but for now I leave you with some things that been inspiring me as of late:

Yves Klein

Yves Klein was a French artist who helped lead the movement of Nouveau réalisme (New Realism) with his minimalistic art centered around a particular shade of blue. And honestly, I get the obsession. His particular cobalt “International Yves Klein” blue does strike a certain chord within my artistic soul. I am drawn to this color a lot when expressing myself through fashion, makeup, art, etc. So… thank you Yves for being as obsessed as I am. :)

Simplicity

Now, I’m not saying I’m a minimalist. However, I do very much appreciate simplicity & ease. Nothing stresses me out more than complication. I think that a high quality life is one that focuses on the basics—food, water, light, sleep, movement, and connection. Life these days can feel overwhelming and complex, especially with having a whole new digital reality to attend do (hello social media). It’s nice to take stock every now and again, trim the fat (simplify, delegate, etc.), and just focus on what’s necessary.

I’m personally loving keeping my meals, routines, and lifestyle choices as simple as possible. This helps the tasks of everyday life feel so much more manageable.

The Galliano Era of Margiela

If you didn’t see John Galliano’s latest couture collection, you do in fact live under a rock. It was one of the most inspiring collections I’ve seen in a long time. Everything about it—from Pat’s doll-like makeup to the timing with the full moon—was a masterpiece, in my humble opinion. It definitely made me feel excited about fashion, art, and even creativity as a whole. Watching the full show (and even clips on social media), I could feel the magic radiating from under that bridge. It was immersive and exciting— all the things fashion should be.

And, of course I’m going to have to recreate this makeup style one day.
